Our favorite melodeath metallers Death on Fire are back with a brand new video off of their latest release Hope. The split, which dropped last October, teamed the group with Corpse Paint and Dayglo to produce an album of originals and unique covers – one of which we premiered last Fall. So once again, we’re stoked to share their new video for “Guillotine” today at the Vault. The track is easily my favorite one from the album, as it combines everything I like about Death on Fire – aggression, jazz fusion, and melody. Check out frontman Tim’s thoughts on the track and then scroll down further to watch it!
This is what we call progressive grindcore. Offensive, angry, and meant to make people think while banging their heads. It has a nice little jazzy chromatic section and some fun in 7/8 before it hits a very traditional ending calling on ManOwaR and some BNWHM influences. If you don’t like it you may be deaf!
