Track Premiere: Victims Of Contagion – “Sisyphus (The Virtue Of Suicide)”

After five years of silence, tech death outfit Victims of Contagion have returned. The Pittsburg outfit earned heaps of critical recognition after the release of their debut EP Parasitic Unborn which featured Bobby Koelble of Death. Their forthcoming follow-up Lamentation of the Flesh Bound also has its fair share of special guests with Michael Keene of The Faceless as well as Phil Tougas of First Fragment, Equipoise, Chthe’ilist, Serocs, and Funebrarum making contributions.

Victims of Contagion - Indy Metal Vault

We’re thrilled to share one of the tracks from their upcoming album today at the Vault. “Sisyphus (The Virtue Of Suicide)” is a mid-tempo trek of unceasing bleakness with growling vocals and shifting dynamics that gives us every indication that Lamentations of the Flesh Bound will push them into the forefront of extreme metal. For those not versed in Greek mythology, Sisyphus was the king that was cursed by Zeus to endlessly push a large rock up a steep hill, only to have it roll away upon nearing the top. While many of can relate to his plight of tirelessly working day after day but pushing onward regardless of the struggle, Victims of Contagion offer another option – suicide. Scroll down and listen below.

Lamentations of the Flesh Bound will be out June 13th via Satanath Records and Rebirth The Metal Productions. The CD version is limited to 500 copies and will include an eight-page booklet.
